Students from four Belfast Schools got a unique opportunity yesterday to tell members of the Assembly’s Education Committee about their schools and what makes them so successful.

Students tell MLAs why their Schools are successfulThe Committee were at Belfast Model School for Girls to meet representatives from the school as well as pupils from St. Louise’s Comprehensive College, Ashfield Boys’ High School and Coláiste Feirste.

The Committee wanted to hear from the schools as part of its inquiry into “Successful Post-Primary Schools Serving Disadvantaged Communities’.

We caught up with Committee Chairperson, Mervyn Storey MLA, to find out what messages the Committee would take away from the meeting. We also spoke to Caroline from Belfast Model School for Girls and Emma from St. Louise’s Comprehensive to find out what they think makes their schools particularly successful.
