CMED has undergone a number of changes recently and this visit by the Committee provided a chance for Members to find out how these changes are affecting parents and children.
CMED staff explained how they are now working more closely with groups such as faith organisations, relationship counsellors and health and social care providers to advise and support parents.
Committee Chairperson Alex Maskey was impressed with what he saw:
“It was important for the Committee to visit CMED today and to learn about the very positive and encouraging work they do to support local families.
“It’s good to see CMED working closely with the community and voluntary sector These groups can play a significant role by sharing their experience of supporting families. Their input can broaden the support available and help to produce positive outcomes for all the families that CMED works with.”
