Calling all NI Primary Picassos

Do you have a budding Picasso in your midst? If the answer is yes then the Northern Ireland Assembly wants to hear from you.

We have just launched an exciting new art competition aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils in primary schools across Northern Ireland. Pupils are being asked to produce an original piece of artwork and can choose between two themes ‘Remembering the Titanic’ or ‘My World’ where children can take inspiration from their daily lives.

Winners will attend a very special celebration event on the 30 March 2012 where their artwork will on display in the Great Hall at Parliament Buildings. The children can also get those creative juices flowing by working with talented Northern Ireland artists on a collaborative piece of artwork which will have pride of place in the Assembly.

To find out more, you can watch our colourful video and see the creative pupils from Currie Primary School as they help the Speaker of the Assembly William Hay to launch the competition.

Don’t forget this competition closes on Friday 9 March 2012 – so plenty of time to get creative!
