Assembly Art Competition - A Great Success

The artistic talent of local primary school children is certainly not up for an Assembly debate. With over 2,000 entries received, the first ever Northern Ireland Assembly Art Competition has been a great success.

The judging panel were overwhelmed with the colourful impressions of the Titanic and the imaginative expressions of everyday life sent in by our very creative Key Stage 2 pupils.

The lucky winners will now be invited with their parents to a special celebration and prize giving event at Parliament Buildings on 30 March, where they will get to see their framed masterpieces on display in the Great Hall. As well as celebrating their success, prize winners will also get an opportunity to work with talented local artists to create an original piece of art which will also be given pride of place at the Northern Ireland Assembly.

We would like to thank everyone - pupils, parents and teachers for taking the time to get involved. The Assembly asked for Picassos - we may just have found a few.
