To ask the Minister of Justice, pursuant to AQW 31049/11-15, as the differences for remand prisoners amount to a more liberal regime, why time served on remand in advance of a sentence is equated to a full or part sentence if convicted; and, (ii) how remand time involves rehabilitative processes if the person is innocent until convicted and therefore not obliged to take part in work or programmes, and depending on the length of time on remand could be freed at the point of sentencing and therefore not rehabilitated.
